Zashier of Highcrest

Zashier of Highcrest was a Gaulvistan rogue and cleric of Miranelle known for his hand in the prevention of the assassination of the Eventide Skyfires and his performance in the Battle of Geldereth, which claimed his life.
Zashier was born in the Gaulvistan city of Highcrest, the second of six children of a poor laborer, and one of only two to survive childhood. He thieved as a youngster and adolescent, often hitting easy targets who were in similarly desperate straits. When he was seventeen, a guard caught him trying to pickpocket a priestess, but the priestess spoke on his behalf and invited him to dinner with her at her temple. This began a devotion to Miranelle, Lady of the Stars, and prompted him to begin studying at that temple the following year. He reformed completely, now choosing a poor lifestyle and putting all his energies into serving the gods. He retained some of the roguish skills he had built and used them on a few adventures as a young adult, including one he embarked on with Silaqui Serpenthelm and Ennio Albertoni, which concluded with the discovery and effective destruction of the assassins' guild the Maintainers of Accord.
Zashier died in the final hours of the Battle for the Stars on 22 December, 1000, and his body was interred in the mausoleum beneath the temple to Miranelle in Geldereth.
