Miranelle

"If the light has ever been there, and ever shall be, why should we be afraid?"
Miranelle to Réas

Miranelle, goddess of the stars, began her life terrified of the night sky. She could not look up during the night, for fear of the complete emptiness she saw, and instead rejoiced in the light of day, becoming great friends with Kaeli and Kishike, but always harboring fear of the blackness that always encased half the world. She went to Synékia, goddess of the night, and under her mysterious and vague but wise tutelage she found comfort. Eventually, Synékia saw fit to reveal to her the secrets of the night, most of which are still unknown even to the most devoted followers of either deity, but one stood out, and that was the presence of stars—light in the sky, but it was hidden from mortal, and even immortal eyes. Miranelle went to Evendur to plead with him to reveal these lights to the world, saying that they didn’t have to fear the night, that the world would be so much better if this beauty were unveiled. Evendur granted her request, under the condition that she would safeguard the deep magics contained within and between the stars. She agreed, and the stars were unveiled, and Miranelle rejoiced.   Miranelle is portrayed as an elf in shimmering garments with stars in her hair and resting upon her head like a crown.
