General Summary
After reuniting following a brief hiatus, Collective Action resumes their adventures by accepting a new quest from The MacGuffin Gatherers job board. Their mission leads them to the quaint fishing village of Kanish, where a local fisherman named Tobias has vanished without a trace.
Teleported to Nakaba by Inadi, the party hires a boat to navigate the river up to Kanish. Upon arrival, they meet with Mayor Darius Kingfisher, who details Tobias's disappearance. Tobias had ventured to Rockshore Island a few days earlier but failed to return, prompting concerns from the villagers. Despite being uninhabited, the island poses risks, especially during inclement weather.
While Darius secures a vessel, the adventurers visit Tobias's home, where they encounter his wife. Roan notices a conspicuously valuable diamond necklace adorning her, raising eyebrows. It's learned that Tobias had set sail with another man named Samson, yet only Samson's boat has returned.
Investigating Samson's residence, the party discovers signs of a hasty departure. With another fisherman's aid, they journey to Rockshore Island, where Tobias's boat is found deserted but tethered. Further exploration unveils a larger vessel anchored offshore, bearing crates marked with a symbol associated with smuggling operations emanating from Polemis.
Taking a plunge into the depths, Celine discovers an underwater entrance to an interior cave system where the smugglers' activities are taking place. The group infiltrates the operation, catching the smugglers off guard. Amidst the chaos, they discover a captive who looks to be their missing fisherman, and confront the leader, who flees alongside a Tiefling accomplice using magical means.
Despite the smugglers' escape, the party emerges victorious, laden with spoils and the task of comforting the frightened fisherman they rescued.
