Little Warrior shield tokens

Report on reconstruction of transportation and teleportation network
By Miko Tanner
While the World Tree allowed travel between worlds or possibly even universes, navigating the space between worlds was achieved through use of the guild tokens. Guild members would use them to ‘port in’ to any nexus point, which were points in space defined by any skilled astromancer. With a single touch any guild member could reactivate their token to return to the World Tree. This allowed the Little Warrior Adventurers Guild to become an inspiring (or perhaps terrifying) and powerful force for order in the multiverse.
The difficult part of using guild tokens was their creation, inscribing them and binding them to the Tree’s life force. These metal disks were made of an unknown alloy derived from Kobold-ore and inscribed using a process known to only a handful of guild members. Some of the more dramatic rumors claimed that a single guild token took years to create and required the sacrifice of no fewer than 6 full-aged dragons. Thankfully they were all but impervious to damage and easily recovered from fallen guild members. Few new tokens ever needed to be commissioned.
Creation of the alloy used for the base plate was well documented by the works of Polina "Reason" Mikalan, an elven wizard who disappeared just over a hundred years ago in her tower in Jence . She left behind her the guild’s astromantic laboratory, 5 confused and guilt-ridden apprentices and over a dozen experiments that were never completed. At the time of the Guild’s fall the task of creating these discs was held by Damien Ironbrand (presumed dec).
Inscription of the guild tokens was a task pioneered by a promising young scholar called William 'Whisper' Bregan (dec), an apprentice of Damien Ironbrand, who was recently killed by guild adventurers for his part in assisting Nathrael the Sin Writer in assaulting the guild hall. Lord Bregan left all his belongings to Charles Penrose (dec) before disappearing himself. The act of inscribing the tokens was not written down - it was described as ‘unrecordable’, anyone who ever tried to document the process was driven insane, so it had to be demonstrated and taught in person, master to apprentice. The only known surviving apprentice of Lord Bregan is Breac Sunfist. However Sunfist has confessed to having never been taught how to inscribe a guild token.
Finally the process of creating nexus points for the tokens to target is a task for an astromancer fully trained in interdimensional arcana. Rhillaine was known to be capable of creating these points at will. The guild council included several other individuals also able to navigate the multiverse with some more difficulty. Strangely no guild member is able to remember any of their identities, with one exception - Lady Wintergreen
With the death of Nathrael and the destruction of the World Tree, all guild tokens have been rendered inert. Most were shattered under the strain of Nathrael’s very presence. All attempts to reforge broken tokens have failed. While Lady Wintergreen struggles with regrowing the World Tree, Sunfist has been tasked with tracking down any remnants of Ironbrand’s, Mikalan’s or Bregan’s research that may allow the guild to produce fresh tokens.
