Sir Whimsicott's Guild report - 0.1.11

Your queue to leave

On the last week of adventures, several of the Guild's finest adventurers were led by Sir Whimsicott Mage-Tail the Third to visit the city of Eal and journey into the strange building there called the Ivory Buroplazia . Their task was clear, to gain the signatures needed for the guild to be approved to trade across the lands of Elanora again. Previously, the guild was it's own power in these lands, basically ignoring the surrounding lands, and being in turn ignored mostly by the inhabitants - but now the guild needs the approvals and support of its neighbours.

The tower loomed overhead as the adventurers waited in the street outside, and were met by the small Tabaxi, Sir Whimsicott.

Knocking on the door, large clicking and spinning gears could be heard behind the colossal doors, but when the moment came, a tiny door opened in the street and they were met by a Bureaucrat who sullenly invited them inside.

Inside the Buroplazia, all manner of strange creatures walked together in the halls, large dragons in spectacles studied tax contributions from far off lands, goblins and high elves walked the halls talking about filing systems of long forgotten tomes, and demons argued with mortals over the correct border between farming communities far away, based on thousand year old legal contracts.

After this shock wore off, the party journeyed up and down stairs, to collect the signatures from the leaders of this strange place.

First, they stepped downstairs into the "Library of Filing" and were met by an army of homunculi sorting and filing away an endless supply of papers and items into boxes up and down the walls.

A strange creature, the Master Book Keeper with his hundreds of eyes, and arms tried to file one of the players who had stepped too close to his pile of scrolls and a battle ensued. After subduing the creature, they saved their friend, achieved a stamp on the paperwork and left the creatures and their master to continue the frantic filing.

They next arrived in the "Room of Patents" where a single man stood at a desk surrounded by floating papers he reviewed, and stamped for approval or denial, based on it's novel information. The party approached, and debated why the Guild being able to trade was a new and original idea, and after some interpretive dance and deep discussion, they convinced "Submission" to stamp their paper with his brand too.

The official form still smoking from Submission's stamp, they next arrived in the "Court of Reference" and after waiting for a few cases to resolve themselves, they approached the bench and were accused of travelling on an unregistered vessel across the seas! Apparently Guppy the giant fish was not registered as a vessel!

Some arguments both ways eventually resolved when the Paladin pointed out that Guppy is a fish not a Vessel, and the judge called a side bar, scolded the lawyer for his lack of research into what fish and vessels are, dismissed the case and granted the guild his stamp with a swing of his gavel.

Next, the group moved into the "Halls of Permanency" a large library filled with stone scrolls and old data, beautiful statues dotted the room and ghostly apparitions floated around cleaning the space. At the far end, someone could be seen reading a set of stone tablets in an arm chair, but when one of the players approached, it turned out that this was "Stonewalled", a Medusa! They somehow convinced one of the ghosts to take the paper forth and gained the imprint of Stonewalled's ring on their paper!

Lastly, the final room they visited was dark and unusual, and featured many contracts and legal doctrines scattered around the space. the "Memorium of Procedures" and as they moved into the room, they were attacked by "Rouge Tape", a giant Drider who leaped from the cieling, casting her webs of red tape across the party, and trapping them in her procedural nightmare. Some quick thinking from the group casting Daylight, and showing their prowess forced Rouge Tape to spit her red stamp out onto their paper and throw them from her space.

As they stood in the Grand Entrance, looking bewildered, the other Bureaucrats began to bow and move out of the way, as a tall skinny suited lizard creature approached them. this was the Head or the Ivory Buroplazia, the CEO "See-Ee-Owe"

He waled up and congratulated the party in a cool collected way, looked over their contract and then took a small circle of red paper from his pocket and a glue stick, and carefully stuck his red circle in the middle of the page. Sealing their quest and allowing the guild to trade now across all of Elanora!
