Purpose / Function

Soren's Shine is a distinguished goldsmith shop located in one of the more affluent districts of Castival. The shop specializes in bracelets, but makes numerous other pieces of jewelry including rings, necklaces, and amulates, as well as custom pieces to a sophisticated—and particularly wealthy—clientele. Soren, a master goldsmith with decades of experience, takes pride in his meticulous craftsmanship and the use of high-quality materials shipped in by Hestal's Mir Mainkar from the far north. The shop not only serves as a retail space but also as both a workshop for Soren and his apprentices, and Soren's own home.

Alterations

Originally designed only as a workshop, Soren's Shine has expanded to include a showroom where clients can browse his collection and consult with Soren on different pieces. The worshop has quickly expanded with the influx of money from the city's visitors and standing nobility, being outfitted with advanced tools that allow for more intricate detailing, enhancing the quality and precision of the jewelry produced.

Architecture

Soren's Shine is built with a sturdy stone base and timber framing, featuring a steeply pitched roof and a prominent front gable that houses a large window, flooding the showroom with natural light. THe facade is adorned with elegant metalwork and the decor inside is a blend of practicality and opulence, drawing in the nobility that is most likely to make use of the shop. There are polished wood cabinets and velvet-lined displays helping highlight the gleaming merchandise found atop them.

History

Soren's Shine was established by Soren Goldhand, a dwarf who moved to Castival to pursue his delicate craft at a larger scale. Over the years, the shop has gaine a reputation for quality and luxury, attracting customers from across the region. He began working with Hestal's Mir Mainkar to obtain more gold from his homeland to the north, making a special deal with them because "There is no gold like Dwarven gold."
