Alchemy didn't come to Astnyr until the Humans migrated to the realm. These Humans taught the Druids the art, so they used it for medical purposes. Retail alchemists became a part of the Crafters Guild while other alchemy became a part of the Life Druid's training.

Alchemy had a brief history in Astnyr, but it was a much needed service. One alchemist, James Smith, taught every Life Druid in Magick Glades how to craft potions that would help their patients and in battle. Healing and resistance potions were the main teachings of alchemists to military forces.
Those that concentrated on the retail value of potions were primarily human through generations in Astnyr. They sold potions that would help with everyday ailments, but never took advantage of their customers. The alchemists of the Crafter's Guild agreed to work together and ensured that they satisfied every customer to the best of their abilities.

Purpose

Alchemists were essential for Astnyr's health. Not only were the Life Druids taught how to heal their patients more effectively, but citizens of all cultures could gain medicine needed for common ailments or benefits. Retail alchemists made potions that helped citizens with fertility, friendship, happiness, love, lust, peace, and dreams.

Tools and Materials

The most common tools all alchemists used were the mortar and pestle, and alembic. Alembic styles varied from small one hand tools to large ground tools. Tables had many alembics to create potions at one given time to help with demand. The potion that was on most demand was the 'Peace Keeper'. Given how affairs were in Astnyr after Morana became the Lady of Death, it made sense that citizens would want peace restored to the region. This sentiment gained even more strength after Strection began his tyranny in Ironhammer.

Benefits

Alchemists had a high benefit for society. Retail alchemists, in particular were sought for in every settlement around Astnyr. They revolutionized medicine upon their teachings to the Life Druids and helped make a better economy for potions.
