Antrim

A common description of the East is of two sides of a coin. On the one side, you have large cities that dot the coast, with thousands living inside their modern walls, mages abundant, and magic so frequent that it's been in recent times banned from being cast inside. On the other, you have small farming villages, communities so small that everyone knows each other and depends on each other for survival and success. The two groups are so close and yet so different that you'd think they were from two different regions. But the two make up the collective of Antrim.   The farming towns typically farm for sustenance, but also provide grain and products from livestock to the sprawling cities of the coast. More backward in their ways, the farming villagers are your typical people of the land, with their calendar of life focusing on the cycles of the seasons. In the spring, it's the planting and livestock. In the summer, it's the farming, and in the fall, the harvest. In the winter, they hunt when needed and hold out for the coming warm weather.   On the coast, the large cities are much more modern in comparison, with much of their business involving imports and exports out of large ports, as well as from other fishing villages along the coast. Income and living expenses can have a steep difference in the larger cities of the East, as poverty is very prevalent in some of the larger cities.

Natural Resources

The East considers grain and livestock to be the main natural resources of the area, and as such, if you aren't in a city in Antrim, you're likely passing by farmsteads or smaller farming villages, especially along the Golden Road.

Tourism

Most of any tourism in the area is centered around the Hightower in Old Town. Sometimes called the Mage's Tower, it is centered in an area known for the practise and study of the arcane. Two archmagisters sit on the council, and the guard of the town employs many mages for the safe defense of it. All-in-all, Antrim as a whole brings many who want to learn more about magic, or even just to gawk at the coastal towns.
