Wakefield

A small village mainly known for it's grain-based agriculture. Being located off of the Golden Road, not many travelers make their way through this village, so the community is fairly small but close-knit, primarily farmers.

Battle of Wakefield

Following an attack on the village's windmill causing much of its destruction, a party of adventurers investigated troubles with a farmer whose crops were dying. The farmer swore that the new neighbor was poisoning his crops but had no proof. When investigating the new neighbor, the party found that they were mercenaries or bandits of some kind, with their leader being a spellcaster. The party fought them and searched the farmhouse, finding an interesting book, among other things. Upon returning back to Wakefield to report on what they'd witnessed, they realized that they had been tricked, not having fought at all in reality. When the party returned however, the house was ablaze. The party attempted to retrieve anything, but struggle aimlessly. Eventually, however, the leader of these bandits, a man named Dumb Butt, returned to siege the town and kill the villagers. The party fought them, with the aid of some of the townsfolks, Chief and Thorbur. When the fight seemed to be going poorly for the enemies, Dumb Butt sacrificed himself and his warriors, transforming himself and the others into void-like monstrosities. The party managed to slay these creatures and prevent more casualties among the villagers, but with much of their infrastructure damaged and many dead, it was a difficult blow. Even now, Wakefield and its inhabitants struggle, but their way of life survives so far, kept together largely in part due to the help of the Tinkertons.

Industry & Trade

The main industry and trade is the harvesting and processing of grains, which uses the large windmill. Other necessary food or supplies are generally traded for using grain.

The main infrastructure is a large windmill just outside of the village proper.

Just outside of the village proper of Wakefield is a point identified to be one of the Leylines, slivers of raw arcane energy.
