Holy Gifted Temple Priest
There is one way to become the Holy Gifted High priest of Davian, and that is through election. Every 15 years an election is held and the 7 Gifted Temple Priests of Davian choose one from their ranks to hold the seat of Holy Gifted High Priest. This is the highest achievement in the Priesthood. Once a person has held this seat they can no longer hold a Temple after their term. Many former Gifted High Priests become tutors and work in Temples as teachers. Some open their own schools. Many choose to live a quiet life and retire. There is an immense amount of stress and pressure in being the Holy Gifted High Priest, and while for long lived races 15 years is but a blink, it is believed that after serving your term you have done your greatest deed for your Gods and should make room for others to lead. This rule of only serving one 15 year term has been highly debated through the most recent decades, but the transition of power and rotation of people and ideas has been deemed essential to consistent peace in Davian and Tema.
