Lievona (lee-evon-a)

The people of Lievona are rather small in number as compared to the other lands, often fair of skin and with brown or blonde hair, and often with eyes of green, blue or brown. Though they are small in number, they have a wide reach politically, as their diplomats travel far. The people are called Lieve. And there is a good mix of all races here, though there is a larger population of elves than most.
Lievona is known as a relatively young land, as it only recently opened its borders to trade. But the Lieve have existed for a very long time, just in rather small numbers. The original Lieve were largely elven, but nowadays it is a mixed group, though 55% of the population is still of pure elven descent.
The Lieve speak a dialect called Dazantti , and have a written language of the same name, it follows the elven alphabet for letters. Dazantti is a mix of elven, halfling and common.
Lievona is famous for its extravagant food and festivals, with one in particular that draws crowds from all over Elyria. This festival, known to all as Fiammanti or The Festival of the Blazing Lights, is known for its fireworks and the colourful masks and costumes, and the huge feast open to all in the central areas all across Lieve towns.
Common festival foods include gigantic sausages and little ‘stained glass’ candies, which are often made into large sculptures. A common drink is spiced wine and mead. This was originally an elven festival, but all Lieve celebrate equally.
The Elves of Lievona are split into two factions, the Clarette Elves and the Dagri Elves.

Notable Cities in Lievona

Mariselle

Mariselle is a port city on the coast, a huge trading hub and very famous for some crazy adventures (especially of the courtesan-seducing variety), it feels a little dreamlike to be in this city, with tall spires with bulb-like roofs, and cathedrals to Eonyx built huge and almost all windows are filled with stained glass, even the streetlamps have stained glass that colour the roads at night.

The most famous place here is the Eclatant Cathedral, which is probably the largest temple ever built in Elyria, taking up nearly 5% of the city.

Vien

Another large port city, but though this place is known as very beautiful, it is also rather dangerous.

Ostia

The capital city of Lievona, the Castello de Luce is found here, which is the royal palace, where King Gabbriello Astair and Queen Beatriz stay.
This isn’t the largest city, but it is well positioned and is the safest of the cities due to the rather large guard presence. The royal guards are called Lightbearers and the common guards are called Torches.

Entella

Another huge trading hub, but this one is positioned near the Vymur Strait, and largely trades with the Rikhross.

The Deity of the Lieve

The Lieve believe in a single entity called Eonyx, which exists as a glowing light.
