Prince Nuri Haxhi

Nuri Haxhi is one of the numerous children of the Mukarrib of Andros. He was born to one of the many concubines in his father's harem, and grew quickly to learn that success came through flattery and derailing the futures of his brothers. He frequently worked closely with the numerous sisters who were often sent out into the world with nary a copper piece to their name. They began growing as agents and friends of Nuri, forming the base of a growing spy network. Although the favor of the women of the family meant little to Bahami society in practice, he learned and listened, growing in knowledge over of the workings of the houses and courts of Andros. When he came of age, much of this was used to leverage himself into position of Prince of Yafham after several minor administrative posts in Andros City.
Becoming Prince of Yafham in 1000 AF, he was the first of the mukarrib's direct sons to assume such a position on the island. He continued to cultivate a network of women and relatives into a growing spy network, with ears in nearly every noble house on the island and even in the holdings of other mukarribs in the Bahami Federation. In 1012, his father appointed him the official Andros spymaster, acting as a councilor to advise and observe for the benefit of the island. He proved enormously successful, and while he maintains the appearance of a cloistered bachelor, disconnected and rare in Bahami society, most of his brothers believes he has eyes on every event that takes place.
Since his father began ailing, Nuri has continued to attempt to place himself into a position to become the clear successor. Although he continues to bicker with his brothers, many believe that should he not emerge as the new mukarrib, he possesses the popular support and leverage to stir up a civil war to place him upon the throne should things not go his way. Those in the know are well aware that Nuri may well be the most dangerous man on the island.
