House Haxhi has long stood as one of the most powerful houses of the Bahami Federation, even before it was a true Federation. They stand for tradition and preservation over old ways of life. They had withstood the Jakonian invasion by leading an exiled force through the mountains, and since remain one of the most hardened opponents to normalizing relations or ending corsair attacks against the states of the Jakonian Peninsula. They advocate for increased raids and everything short of open warfare against the Jakonians and the free cities that neighbor it.
Assets
The house is rich in wealth and assets, owning the largest foundries in Andros. The amount of funds generated by this industry has assisted Haxhi in developing its own standing army and forces, often equipped with the very weapons they produce. Although Haxhi weapons are hardly the last word in quality, they do exist in sheer quantity, providing every man in the retinue of the house with armor and weaponry of their choice. The family is large and scattered across the island, and despite the size of the Haxhi family, everyone within lives a fairly luxurious lifestyle, and there is still plenty of gold remaining for the continued operation and sustenance of all of the family's retainers.
History
House Haxhi is unique in the history of the Bahami Federation. Most of the Bahami islands were directly conquered during the Corsair Invasion. Andros, instead, invited the corsairs to land, due to previous conflicts with the other island kings and the nations of the Jakonian Peninsula. Seeing an opportunity for an influx of combat hardened protectors, Andros took upon them the worship and customs of the invaders and integrated into their ranks. House Haxhi has its roots in the initial marriage between an island resident and an invading mukarrib, allowing them to forge the bonds of a new nation in matrimony. Andros remained unified in that manner, and House Haxhi has ruled ever since, even mounting a successful guerrilla resistance against the Jakonians when the island was invaded and occupied for over two centuries from the so-called "mountain kingdom."
