Zanvin Ke'zani

Chief Zanvin Ke'zani

Zanvin Ke'zani is the chief of the Ke'zani Tribe of goblins within the Sypi Confederacy. Zanvin grew up making the other goblins of the tribe laugh even as a child. He became well known for his erratic behaviors and hilarious pranks that would set the entire tribe alight with laughter. As he aged, he began learning even more pranks and techniques from the gnomes who joined the tribe and taught the art of invention. Zanvin's creativity soon turned from jokes to inventing instead, and he spent ample time creating new things. Unlike the other goblins, however, he became known for actually committing to the devices he created, rather than abandoning them at the first sign of setback or malfunction.    When the Sypi Civil War erupted, the Ke'zani joined the conflict on the side of the Bienombes, not solely from diplomatic commitment, but from the knowledge that the Church of the One Sun sought their extinction. The goblins sent their best warriors and inventors into the conflict, and Zanvin was one of those. He developed siege weapons and devices that were significantly more reliable than the goblins' typical fare, and helped preserve the lives of many goblins in the battles that came. Zanvin himself became well known for his skills with a crossbow, as a sniper eliminating Sihka officers and tribal leaders. The end of the war saw many goblins dead, and those who survived, returned home changed.   Zanvin's inventions became less frequent and entertaining, but he grew tired of the growing issues along the Bamardi border. Raids by Bamardi mercenaries into the Confederacy saw no difference between the Saru orcs and the Ke'zani goblins, and the chief made no attempts to help his people. When the wartime chief finally died in 1029, Zanvin chose to contend for the position. He revealed a device that would bore into riverboats and disable the helmsman in a hilarious manner. The practicality and the hilarity of the device won him the support he needed to gain position as chief.   Zanvin's tenure as chief has been marked by him beginning the process of moving his people more erratically across the forests along the Mobtens River. He always fails to present a target for the Bamardis, and often leaves behind booby traps and devices to haunt those who hunt him. The Bamardis have thus given up the pursuit, and the Ke'zani have begun to know a more peaceful time, at long last.
