Central Highlands
The Central Highlands is a cold semi-arid climate plateau that covers a large area near the center of the continent.
North is the Toruga Basin, south is the Central Wolfplains, East is the Celestial's Plateau separated by Terstone Canyon, and to the west is Achad Lhug otherwise known as the Dragon's Spine Mountains, and The Null.

Geography
Much of the eastern and northern portions of the plateau is composed of exposed rock and canyons. Meanwhile the western and southern portions that border the Central Wolfplains have a little more greenery although the lack of precipitation lends itself to scrubby looking plants.
Ecosystem Cycles
The summers tend to be hot and dry, though not quite as hot as those of hot semi-arid climates. The winters are on average colder with the possibility of a freeze or snow on occasion especially at higher elevations. Major temperature swings between day and night, sometimes by as much as 36 °F or more, are a common occurrence.
As such many of the animal populations are either suited for both hot and cold climates, or in the case of the large lizard and dinosaur populations, the migrate south and west during the winter time.

Fauna & Flora
The local plant life tends to be more on the gangly and scrubby side of things. However the fauna is anything but that. Giant Lizard species, Big Horns, and most impressively many species of dinosaur make their home here.
