Ilnithic
This organization, sometimes referred to as "The Family", consists of many shape shifters seeking solidarity and safety. Shape shifters are outcasts, living a lonely existence plagued by secrecy and betrayal. Centuries ago, Lily Desjardins brought together many shape shifters, making a home for them within the Festering Peninsula. While originally a very unstructured, communal gathering of those with no home of their own, the group became much more after their leader underwent the ritual to take Dalyeric - Decay into her body. After subduing the element successfully, she used her newfound power to direct and protect those under her.
The organization took on greater structure. Those shape shifters whose partners were one of the original ten Elemental Familiar were considered "parents" while all other shape shifters were "children", imitating the partners who had changed them. These "parents" were expected to train under their element and, if they were successful in their training, to imitate Lily and undertake the ritual. Only then we're they considered Mother or Fathers. This is all in the interest of protecting and guiding their family, taking responsibility for the power they have access to. In return for protection, the children plant themselves throughout Emynea, working as the eyes, ears and hands of the organization. They manipulate the world from the shadows in the interest of all shape shifters. Those who have earned the trust of their Parents know the organization's true goal is to restore the Erlithmanil, believing if they aid these benefactors, they will no longer be forced to live in the shadows, in fear.
