Yaxiya

Yaxiya is a large continent in the northern hemisphere of Emynea, east of Eluziar. Dramatically mountainous, Yaxiya hosts the largest and tallest mountain range in all of Emynea, Kunlun Shan! Its tallest peak is Ylithuum's Seat, a sacred mountain across Yaxiyan cultures. Kunlun Shan is extremely seismic but is rich in precious gems and metals. Local Huaren with kaithur suitable for mining are skilled at navigating what the Kingdom of Accia calls the Quaking Mines, Dizhenbei Dong. Kunlun Shan and Dizhenbei Dong act as a natural barrier between Zhongguo and Bharat while frigid taiga separates Zhongguo from the the rolling tundra steppes beyond, Mongol Uls. The ethereal peninsula Joseon, heavily influenced by Rylis and Siryl, lingers at the easternmost edge of Dizhenbei Dong. Nippon rests farther east off the coast from Joseon, just on the edge of Wu Donghai, where an eternal, stagnant fog swallows the sea.

The southernmost region of Yaxiya, To Rong Lua, is drenched volcanic activity, rivers of lava meandering past tropical forests adapted to survive this harsh but breathtaking landscape. The volcanic activity stretches north along the east coast, becoming the ash cloaked mountain range Donghuo Shan. The capital city of Zhongguo, Yanjing, is built in the shadow of Penglai Shan, Ralgot's Seat and the northernmost point of this volcanic chain. These features are nestled into Zhongxin Pingyuan and Huangbei Gaoyuan, floodplains and ashen valleys which are a massive agricultural power thanks to their volcanic soils and plentiful irrigation. Northwest Yaxiya is home to Huangbei Gaoyuan, a dry, loess plateau which converts into frozen desert as it stretches further northwest. Xizhulin Shan is a mystic landscape which lays between central Zhongguo and To Rong Lua, serene, wild and laced with Gokrilvek magic. Meanwhile, the westernmost reaches of Yaxiya give way to the sprawling deserts of Xishi Shamo.

North of Kunlun Shan is a massive set of lakes, sometimes called the Tepid Lakes, where the thriving underwater civilization of Bharat resides. Despite their northern location, the lakes are heated by magma chambers far below and remain comfortably warm throughout the year. Beautiful underwater cities and villages populate the lake, though there are some who choose to live on the islands above instead. Mongol Uls wraps around these lakes and stretches north before reaching the arctic Frozen Wastes. There are islands south of To Rong Lua too, within Laut Berkabut, reaching south to the equator. These are collectively called Suwarnadwipa, protected from Accian invasion by both fog and unfamiliar sea. Much of their civilization reside beneath the waves, deep sea underwater cities inhabited by those blessed by Siryl. Accia is unsure of what, if anything, lies south of Suwarnadwipa but there are rumors of Lost Isles or even another continent.

Regions

The lands of Yaxiya vary depending on region. Overall, it is marked my sharp and/or volcanic mountain peaks hugged by mist, lush river valleys and fields, great windy plateaus, quaking mountain mines and vibrant and rolling tundra steppes in the north.
