Nippon

This large archipelago lies at the easternmost point off the coast of Yaxiya before Wu Donghai swallows the sea in a stagnant fog. These lands are the favored location of and heavily influenced by Sylthari the Celestial, Aethid daughter of Zalikar and Lithmor. The archipelago is broken up into many mountainous islands. Two islands sit at the center. One is in the shape of a crescent moon while the other is a circular isle, hosting their capital, which lies within this crescent. These were fashioned by Sylthari herself in her youth and the circular isle is home to one large, sleeping volcano—prank from Ralgotar.

While during the day Nippon may seem ordinary, at night the magic of the land comes alive. Rivers, trees, stones, all are imbued with the gentle, ethereal glow of celestial light. Some are mild like distant stars, some smooth like moonlight while others shine far more intensely as though tears of a star have fallen to earth. Their are more intense and dangerous effects in the deeper reaches of the archipelago, miniature celestial bodies far too powerful for earthly settings, and there are forests laced with Sylthari's mesmerizing and hypnotic magic as well. The leaves glimmer with a gentle glow when the wind rustles them and those without proper adaptions will quickly find themselves lost and confused as if in a dream.
