Tia makes a new and unexpected friend in an equally unexpected place, using her birth form to explore. Despite the odd circumstances, Tia makes a new secret friend with a boy she calls "Al" who shares the same rare racial magic.

With some help from Euan, Tia gets away from the compound and uses her birth form to enjoy, explore and travel through the river. With the use of this unique and rare ability, she finds a hidden cave in an underground river. Reforming into this cave, she has a memorable first encounter with a boy with this same rare ability.    This is the first time in her life she has ever met another with this form, both of them eager to speak with each other for this reason. They are both hesitant to reveal their identities to each other and he introduces himself as "Al". They connect in an odd way and, going out on a limb, Tia asks if he would like to be "secret friends" like she once had in Nippon. They agree to meet up with each other in secret, not revealing their identities to each other, so they can talk about things they can't with anyone else. What Tia doesn't realize is her new friend is actually Prince Aldric Syltharis. He calls her "Tsuki".
