Gruumsh, He Who Never Sleeps

Gruumsh is the creator and God King of the Orcish people, guiding them across the planes and urging them towards violence and war wherever they tread. Gruumsh, as a god of war, has numerous enemies, but none more hated than Maglubiyet, god of the Goblinoids. The two wage an endless war, claiming the souls of their people to fight perpetually against one another on Acheron. On the Mortal Plane, Gruumsh has also waged war, specifically against the Elves, and it was their god, Corellon, who cut out Gruumsh’s eye in a duel. It was this event that marked the earliest known migration of mortals to Endunia, as Gruumsh brought them there to reclaim his lost eye. Orc shamans disagree on if Gruumsh created them for that purpose, or if they had existed beforehand to fuel his war with the Goblins. While Gruumsh focused his attention elsewhere, his people searched, futilely, for his Eye for millenia. Despite allegedly coming to Endunia first, the Orcs have been outcasts in the land and enemies of all of the major species of the land at one point or another. Gruumsh, rather than help his people eke out a peace in the lands, stokes the fires of war, urging his Orcs to plunder, raid and terrorize the other inhabitants of Endunia. Gruumsh appears as a massive and muscular, one-eyed Orc (sometimes with an empty socket, and sometimes more of a cyclops) clad in black platemail and wielding either a spear and shield or greataxe.
