Mystra, Mother of All Magic

The personification of the Magic itself, Mystra is one of the most mysterious, and most powerful, of gods in all the Planes. Some cultures, like the Elves, view her as simply a metaphor, with no true consciousness, while Humans believe her to be as much a god as any other. Mystra is believed to control the Weave, the current of magic that courses through creation, hoping to use it to protect Creation from those that would undo it. Mages often study her, but she has few priests dedicated to her worship directly, as she rarely acknowledges their presence at all. She is known to favor some rare powerful mortals, Mystra’s Chosen, to whom she bestowed wondrous powers. Some rumors purport Mystra has been killed at least once and her mantle taken up by mortals, but there is little evidence. No known avatar of hers has been documented on Endunia.
