Personal history
Born to become a Statue
Being born in Saleah, Elven City - Hallowed Dominion, Allisa was one of many who were afflicted with the Wood Curse. With the paranoia surrounding their affliction, most wood elves were confined to Silverwood. Allisa, being quite an energetic individual, was always eager to see the world outside the city walls, not wanting to stay in the same place for her whole life. The urge to see the world only increased when she first discovered the graveyard of Silverwood, with rows upon rows of wooden statues of the wood elves that came before her that succumbed to the curse. To her, watching yourself slowly becoming weaker until you can no longer move and not being able to do anything about it was too cruel of a fate. She was motivated to see the rest of the world before she would fall to the same fate.
Hope for a Cure
Allisa spent the earlier years of her life browsing the journals of long-gone adventurers, recounting their journies and adventures, until she stumbled onto one that mentioned a tree in a faraway land called Ithon that supposedly granted vitality to its surroundings, letting life flourish in its shadow. Being given a goal and some knowledge, Allisa's excitement could not be contained. She urged her parents, who were rather reluctant, to let her leave Silverwood and explore the rest of the world. Her parents knew that it was wrong to keep someone with her personality cooped up in one place, but the harsh rejection of their kind by the rest of their Domain would only bring misfortunes to their daughter. In the end, they opted to deny her wishes.Runaway Ventures
Disappointed, Allisa began plotting to secretly run away. On one quiet night, she would sneak out of Silverwood, through a hole in the wall that she discovered during one of her "adventures" in the confines of the city, taking supplies from the house, as well as a lumber axe kept by the mill. Unbeknownst to her, her parents expected her to leave but did not have the heart to stop her, leaving necessary equipment in convenient spots for her.For several years, she would make her way west, to Ithon, leaning Ihana slowly as time went on. She would find it difficult to restock her supplies with merchants, as anyone that noticed the small wood-like patches on her skin would immediately shut their doors to her. Fortunately, bandits and others that would do harm also avoided her, making it easier for her to take whatever she needed from them
A Mysterious Boy
Eventually, she would stumble on a camp settlement in the wilds in Silverthorn - Ithon. Allisa noticed that the people there appeared to also be from Saleah. Finally having someone to chat with, she bought what she need, and sold supplies that she stole from some merchants. A masked figure showed up, filling up his bag with food and other equipment he needed. She returned to maintaining her gear until someone tapped on her shoulder. Jolting back, she saw that it was the masked figure. Upon realizing that he wasn't afflicted, she gave him an eyebrow raise, as most people did not talk to her kind without ulterior intentions. The masked figure introduced himself as Vepdor Raventaker, asking if she was also on a journey to somewhere, as her outfit did not match the rest of the Wood Elves at the camp. She nodded her head, to which Vepdor replied with where he was heading, and if she wanted to head down south as a duo. She gave a hesitant yes, the Tree was along the path he marked on the map. Something shiny on the stranger's back caught her eye, a silver rapier with fancy patterning. Allisa thought that once they've reached her destination, she would steal the rapier off of him.A Mysterious Friend
As they made their way towards the enormous tree, Allisa realized that like her, he was also shunned by others due to his face, and grew more trusting of Vepdor. When they finally reached the fabled Tree of Virtue, Allisa immediately began to feel more energized, and the wood marks were slowly receding, but it still did not cure her condition. The wood from the hardy Tree was also impossible to harvest, with the bark strong enough to survive for millenniums without leaving so much as a scratch. She realized there was no way for her to bring anything back to her city to help, and it was a ridiculous idea for the entire population to relocate near the tree. The Journey Continues
Discouraged, Allisa felt that she had nothing she wanted to do anymore, until Vepdor suggested that she and him could form a party to travel together for the rest of his journey. They would find their 3rd member down south, after crossing the Thamoric border into Trenchrain. Allisa immediately realized that the hooded figure was a Nekum trying to disguise themself, and was far more passive and intelligent compared to the stories she'd read as a child, which would depict them as savage carnivores. To her surprise, the Nekum, calling himself Aki, asked if he could join their group, as he had no recollection of his life from before, as a result of his banishment from the society of Nekums that were extremely reclusive. Agreeing, but staying cautious, the two would let the strange Nekum follow them.Elgas, the Untrusted
After several misadventures, she would have a smith refashion her lumber axe into a proper battleaxe, and they would name the party "Edgeblades". Allisa could not help herself but laugh, with Aki giving a disapproving shake of his head, much to Vepdor's dismay. But, in the end, they couldn't think of a better name, so they had to begrudgingly accept the name. On their way to a fabled tomb of a king, they would stumble upon a fourth party member, known as Elgas. They would eventually reach the tomb of Ethon, the Knight King. Reawakening the Fallen, they could not put up much of a fight, but fortunately, they were saved by the two famous adventurers Vepdor spoke so highly about, Zephos Dewarm and Daerel Foremaul. The party would eventually wake up in the duo's house, after being treated by them. Throughout the night, a mysterious assassin demanded that Elgas come with them, but Zephos stepped in, being taken himself instead. In her weakened state, as well as the wood curse, she could do nothing to help. To her surprise, Elgas, who seemed like an average human, was already relatively back to full strength, and chased after the assassin. Zephos would return a day later with Elgas in tow.
To Ashes
Eventually, Elgas stated that he would go forage for supplies, while Zephos and Daerel left the house on an errand of their own. Going back to sleep, Allisa woke up the pink flames burning the house to ashes, while a panicked Vepdor tried to get them to safety. Aki would be buried under rubble after stumbling on debris. When she finally got a clear look at who was chasing them, she saw Elgas' distinguishing scar. Vepdor would try to fight back, but he was no match for a Dragonkin. Allisa and the rest of the Edgeblades would presumably all perish in Barewood Path, with Zephos and Daerel coming back far too late. Her parents would eventually receive a letter containing the crushing news of their daughter's death, left by a mysterious figure.
