Arensat Swamp (Ah-ren-sat)

The Arensat Swamp is located in the southeastern region of Eastern Galea, as part of the Arensat River that flows down from the Verrat Range, which makes up its southern border. To the east, the river flows out into the Amasha Sea, but the swampland remains further inland. Along the coast, the land is firmer, and it is here that the two largest towns, North and South Arensat, reside. The northern and western border of the swamp is not claimed by any kingdom, but is instead inhabited by many farmers and small villages. It is difficult to traverse for most travelers, as one wrong step might end with one sunken in mud and water, but the catfolk who reside in the swamp seem to have no issue finding footfalls to make their way through the region, and their curious and inventive nature have allowed them to find ways to make traversing easier. When travelers do enter the region, despite their curiosity, the catfolk keep to themselves, suspicious of outsiders.
