Hemgrove Forest (Hem-grohv)
Hemgrove Forest is a boreal forest, made up of mostly coniferous trees, but dotted with a few deciduous. Young or old, the trees are tall, their growth enhanced by their magic. The trees within the forest are sentient and act as guardians to protect the home of the Sylvan Elves and fey creatures that reside within. The trees will shift and create new paths to those it thinks is an intruder, effectively getting the creature lost within its trunks.
It is located in the center of Avonan, making up most of the central land from Perendim to just outside of Lauranye from west to east. It reaches the northern tundras and ends at the hilly regions to the south.
Fauna & Flora
The land itself is alive with the magic of Seldarin and Tiavara, though the trees themselves have consorted with Mirage.
The forest is also home to Voxitts, small fox-like creatures with five tails that are said to contain soul magic.
Tourism
As the forest itself is pure natural magic, those not trained in the ways of Seldarin usually cannot traverse the forest on their own, as it is alive and the trees will move. It is easy to get lost in this forest.
