Fionn/Deimne
Fionn/Deimne
First a dragon (Deimne), then a man (Fionn) as of 339. He has the gift of Spirit, Planet, fire, water, and wind affinity, and Plane magic, and he gains some small star magic after his star fae induced transformation. Deimne is the only child of Ailbhe and Cecht to have Summoning affinity. His go-to summon is a Valkyrie from the Kreig plane; he really liked the cwn annwn, but he made them too nervous, being a dragon and all. After he becomes a human the cwn annwn are cool with being around him (and he can't keep summoning the Valkyrie since that would be a dead giveaway), so he goes with them from then on: Fiacail (tooth), Gear (cut), Fuil (blood), Sealg (hunt), and Biorach (sharp).
He grows up with Prince Lynzee, Trinny, and his sisters: Almas and Bryce. Even with the magical amulets worn by Lynzee and Trinny that allow them to rough and tumble with him and his sisters without fear of accidental injuryhe is still always very protective of Lynzee; he would frequently cover her with a wing at nap time in the children's day room- especially when Trinny and Almas were getting up to shenanigans while they were supposed to be sleeping. Lynzee and Deimne learned summoning together; she would lean up against his scales and read aloud Brant's (formerly Nephele's) books on the other planes and the beings who reside there. Lynzee helps him with his crisis of self over their reaction to him and settle for a Valkyrie from the Krieg plane.
His love Lynzee causes him to wish to be human. He grew up hearing the story of the Nemeli prince, Cadence, and the Star Fae, Rosililly, who would become Sovereign Consort Azalee and Prince Lynzee’s forebearers. When he and his partner, Trinny, leave for their knightly quest, they go instead to the star fae to convince them to grant his wish; he becomes Fionn. Why would they do that? He doesn't have his own star magic to do it himself like Rosililly, so he would need them to use their power for him, and we know what it did to her. WELL, it's because they want to be all together again, even if only a part of them. They'll only need to give a tiny bit each, nothing that will really hurt them too much, but still a part of them. They know that Deimne is doing this because he loves Lynzee and wants to be with her, and she carries a small part of Rosililly in her- so if Deimne does mange to have a kid with her, the part of Rosililly from Lynzee and the parts of them in Deimne will all be back together in their baby! And that is more than enough for the star fae.
Fionn (now) and Trinny take some time nearby to Evestria for Fionn to acclimate to his new body and relearn how to fight; during this time they meet and befriend some Kirin, and this is also when he switches to the cwn annwn- who actually recognize him. Trinny has a weird thing happen where she thinks she might be in love with Fionn, but she's not. It was just the shock of loving him like people love their bestfriend and he's suddenly in a hot human body which throws her off; they get to have awkward times exploring that. Fionn then travels with Trinny and two Kirin, Kaze and Kumo, to meet up with Lynzee and Almas in Nidavir/Renamos. Fionn’s transformation is a success in that he wins the heart of Prince Lynzee, but it comes at a cost that their daughter, Lissaveth, is forced to pay.
