Dark Elves
The Dark Elves are the most unusual of the mortal races. They worship the malevolent Darae and seem to see the other races as less wise then themselves, similar yet different from the Light Elves in many ways.-Resi, The Races of Erilel
Basic Information
Anatomy
Elves have similar anatomy and morphology to men, with two arms and legs, along with also having 206 bones. The only major difference is that elven leg and arm bones are longer than men's bones.
Biological Traits
Dark Elves are the second tallest of the mortal races and also have very lithe bodies. They have strong legs and large feet to help with the marshy terrain they live on. The Dark Elves of Styaong have smaller feet than the rest of the elves as they live in a mountainous not marshy area.
Genetics and Reproduction
Dark Elves reproduce like the other elven species and like the Light Elve also gestate for 13 months. They have a very low fertility rate and as such a low population.
Growth Rate & Stages
Dark Elves age the second slowest of all the mortal races and have no real puberty period. They are considered physically mature at age 50 and are considered adults at this time too. They are considered middle-aged at 145 years, and old aged at 280 years.
Ecology and Habitats
Unlike the other elven races, Dark Elves can live anywhere though they prefer marshland and savannah. They greatly dislike cold areas though they can survive there.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Dark Elves eat mostly meat with a small amount of vegetables for health, the most common plant they eat is the Dark Berry, a small orange-like fruit.

Social Structure
Dark Elves live under the Dark Lord of the Court of Elves and have an incredibly patriarchal society where males are in charge of every position and are considered the head of the household. The only exception is the cults of the Darae as they are equal.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Most Dark Elves live in the province of Weral and the island of Evercliff off the coast of Everstone. A small community of Dark Elves also exists on the coastal city of Zens Erts.

Dark Elves are extremely intteligant, as evidenced by their ability to learn new things very quickly.

Dark Elves have the greatest sense of touch of all the elven races, they also have a great affinity for the Daraic Arts.
