Naming Traditions
Feminine names
Female names often end in soft sounds or the vowels I or A.
Some examples include Laraf, Cira and Firi.
Masculine names
Male names often end in harsh sounds like K or P, all vowels may be used at the end of these names.
Some examples include Huro, Kufo and Pess.
Family names
Family names are usually a name from the Old Elven language that has lost its meaning through time, fathers give their children their surnames and wives take their husbands names.
Culture
Major language groups and dialects
Oeaic is the most commonly used language on Everstone, closely followed by the Common Tongue.
Shared customary codes and values
Female and child submission to the husband and father of the house is expected. All Light Elves are expected to join the Mages College at least one time in their lifetime.
Common Etiquette rules
The most common etiquette is polite language for elders and higher ranked officials and bowing to them as well. Punctuality is also valued and lateness is seen as extremely disrespectful.
Common Dress code
Females are expected to cover their cleavage and their upper legs and wear pale colours. Males are expected to wear capes and dark colours, all skin can be revealed, though genitalia must be covered.
Art & Architecture
Light Elven architecture has a very circle focused design, with circular buildings and spirals on most walls and doors.
Their art is very life-like and they are said to be the first to learn to paint and sculpt.
Ideals
Beauty Ideals
The beauty ideals of the Light Elves include having pale skin and golden eyes and hair. Light Elves also find height extremely attractive.
Gender Ideals
Females are expected to wear paler clothes than men and to remain at home running the household. They are also expected to use polite language and be hospitable.
Males are expected to wear darker colours and have very good fighting abilities. They are expected to be great magic users and have well paying jobs to provide for their familiies.
Courtship Ideals
Usually, the fathers will decide if their children will become a couple and at age 45 courtship begins. Males are expected to enchant things for their prospective partner and gift them jewels and clothing to wear. After they come of age the partners will be married in a temple of Nudur and be together for life.
Relationship Ideals
Relationships do not include sexual conduct until it has been 5 years then sexual actions may occur. After marriage couples are expected to stay together for life with the female having children and the male working to provide. But if the husband become abusive the wife may go to another family member and leave her husband.
