Valkol Horde
The Valkol Horde is a country and group of Orcs on the Isles of Turok. Originally created by The Crimson Betrayer, the horde were the main members of the armies of his lieutenants during the final war of the first age.
After the Betrayer was slain and the Great Convergence ravaged the world, the control he had over the Orcs dissipated. The Horde felt lost and guilty for what they had been pushed to do and immediately retreated from the lands that they still held, into hiding. They eventually re-settled on their home islands in the Isles of Turok, and declared that their culture of warmongering would be over for good.
Today the horde still sees much wariness from the other states of the world, despite not fighting an aggressive war in over a millennia.
Structure
The horde is led by the Peace Council, a group of leaders from across the horde's many villages and two major settlements. The leader of this council is the Chieftain.
Culture
Strength is an important concept in Valkol society, but honour is an even greater concept. To start a fight without due cause is deeply dishonourable, as is running from a confrontation that you started through ill means. There is also a great sense of guilt among the Valkol society, talking favourably about the war or their previous lords is deeply offense and can even lead to prison time.
Public Agenda
To continue building up the nation, and improving their relations with those on the main continent.
History
The Valkol horde was originally created by the Crimson Betrayer, who created the Orc race as a tool to fight his war against the nations of Estellia. The nation was built for a single purpose, to serve the lieutenants of the betrayer and to fight until their last breath. Much of the isles was used as material for making gear, and most of the settlements were dedicated to training the orcs for battle.
The Horde expanded their territory massively during the final war, eventually controlling more than 50% of the continent, before the great convergence stopped all fighting in its tracks. With the orcs no longer under the control of the betrayer, they left the front lines in droves, realising that they were only puppets this whole time and finally feeling empathy for those they had been conquering. The horde completely collapsed for a time, as the orcs scattered across the nation, hiding in small communities away from the last dredges of civilisation.
In time, as the continent rebuilt itself, they would regroup and sail back to their home in the isles. Here they would rebuild their society as a nation of peace. Ever since they have managed to stay neutral in all conflicts, and have only had to fight defensive battles. They did not fall to Margot during his rise to power, fighting off his poor navy and scaring the emporer who feared that the orcs might assemble themselves into their hayday invasion force. They are still seen with suspicion by many other nations, but things have slowly been turning around for the horde.
