King Oberon

King

Oberon, known to be the King of the Spring Court and guardian of the Fields of Spring, is a member of the Seelie Court often worshiped as a deity by the Fey.   As a Sylvan God, his divine activities involved the protection of the Sylvan realms from incursions or attacks by rapacious monsters or humanoids. Many of his worshipers and followers lean towards the wild and tempestuous means of nature, satyrs; dryads; treants and some elves.   His avatar, frequenting the halls of the Spring Court, has only a fraction of his true power, but it no less imposing and commanding as his divine form. He is quick to intervene with issues relating to his land and the lands of his beloved Titania.   He is a stern protector and warrior, if wild and mercurial at times. He relies less upon illusion and camouflage than other members of the Seelie Court, and is unafraid of physical combat.   It was Oberon who crafted Titania's Palace of Senaliesse, having done so from living Fey bark and oaks.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

The hunt is a thrilling and vital part of life, but it must never be cruel. Hunt for food, but never kill for enjoyment; preserve the lives of the beasts that are hunted if food is not needed. Live in harmony with the beasts, take only what is needed, and the animals will aid you when needed.   The tools and skills necessary to make a good hunter can also be used to defend and protect faerie homes; use them to eliminate dark forces that threaten the faerie woodlands.

Physical Description

Body Features

Avatar of the God:

Oberon's avatar appears as a wingless, unusually tall and muscular male faerie. His eyes are black and wild, dark brown locks of hair hair are thatched and braided and run through with brambles, and his skin is comparable of oaken wood in colour. Often clad in a cloak of green leaves stitched onto brown leather, among leather armour of the same.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

The true history of King Oberon is scarcely known, with rumours and stories wildly twisting the truth to the brink of being unrecognisable and unknown. Some say that his relationship with the Queen, Titania, is a tempestuous one, with them flitting so frequently between lovers and enemies that the two terms are interchangeable; some say the giant bestial spirits sometimes seen roaming his domain are a gift from Titania and others say it is her way of keeping him in check.   Only those closest to him would know the real truth, the depth of his affections and his ferocious love of the Feywild and all Sylvan creatures. But alas, his Inner Circle is flighty and fickle, and even knowing when they speak the truth can be a hard thing to glean.   Oberon is, as most Fey are, a mystery to untangle.
