Taernuin Gell
Tall and pale for an elf, Taernuin Gell would be the heir to the leadership of the Shadar-Kai. He is completely bald and has faded silvery blue eyes and long sharp ears. He often almost appears sickly in appearance, but this is simply a common trait of the Shadar-Kai. Taernuin is the direct descendant of Krenral Gell, The Raven Queen's most trusted advisor during her ascension, and the General to her army of Shadar-Kai. Those familiar with Taernuin generally refer to him as 'Gell' an incredibly prestigious and famous name in the Shadowfell. He generally comes across as a typical Shadar-Kai, emotionless and stern, but deep down Taernuin feels emotions just like any other, he just chooses to suppress them. He tends to avoid Humans, Fey and Halflings who he considers to be overly emotional creatures.
Hours after the death of his father Xarann Gell, the broken remains of Guenhyvar were brought to a young Taernuin by a flock of ravens. Dropping them at his feet, Taernuin has no knowledge of the existence of his half-sister or what happened to his father, he only knows that his father must be dead for him to inherit the spear. There was no traditional ceremony to appoint him as the new leader, nor an answer as to why. Taernuin has taken the broken remains of Guenhyvar as a sign that the Raven Queen had broken her pact with his family. He joined the adventurer's guild to prove himself and was eventually granted power again by the Raven Queen. Taernuin does not know what wrong he is trying to right, all he knows is that he craves the forgiveness of the Raven Queen and a place by her side.
