The Darklands

The darklands, much like the dreadlands is an area off limits to most inhabitants of the shadowfell. While taking the road from Gloomwrought to Nighthold travellers often hear the deathly shriek of the shadow dragons which live in this region. They number in the thousands, and on a full moon, can be seen circling over the mountain ranges like a swarm of bats. They prey on travellers and regularly attempt to raid Nighthold for fresh meat from the cattle there. Little else is known about the area as not a single person has ever crossed the mountains and returned.
