The Most Humble Heavenly Throne of Dithmarburg has dominated the politics of central Evantian, since it's creation in 751. Great Kingdoms have rose and fallen as the Heavenly Throne continued to rule, this was not without it's moments however. In 1131, a succession crisis threatened to end the union after the death of Charles Maxima II. The rule of Franz IV from 1457 to 1489 marked a peak in Imperial power, when the power of the Emperor extended into the Nordtal Coast and Eastern Avignon. Recently, tension following the Divide of Arterium in 1654 has threatened the unity of the Empire, the Treaty of Wien in 1687 attempted to address this but it is still up for debate if this has succeed.

The Heavenly Emperor is elected by the Princes of Dithmarburg. These Princes are the controllers of the smaller states that unite as the Heavenly Throne of Dithmarburg, some are elected officials, some are orders and some are hereditary monarchs.
The rulers of these smaller lands and the mayors of the Free Cities are expected to loyally serve the Emperor, and all those in the Empire are their subjects.

The declaration of the Emperor is that the Emperor must serve to maintain the strength and prestige of the Heavenly Throne first and formost, while upholding the vitures of peace and justice.
The current aim of the Emperor is to restore the legitmacy of the Church of Arterium, helping to cause the situation Dithmarburg is now in. They also aim to dominate the politics of Evantian.
The prestigious but war-weary Army of Heaven, one of the most professional and modern armies in the world.
They also control some of the most valuable trade lands, giving a large wealth and with that, strong fortifications in the central and southern regions of Dithmarburg. Recently in the War of Arterium they have lost direct control over the geographically more vunerable north.
When the great horde of Prussen Darkoak attacked from the eastern steppe of Evantian, the people of Dithmarburg and Avignon united to stop the horde. They after much fighting repelled Prussen at the Battle of Dwindale Valley in 750, but the union would without this common foe divide. However while the Avignon part left, the Princes of Dithmarburg decided to stay united in case of another threat. The Heavenly Throne of Dithmarburg was formally established in 751, and Karl Gustavus Welf was crowned as the first Heavenly Emperor.
Men from The Mark, Fjordian, Prussen and Avignon can be found near the border of those respective nations, however the deeper into the land the more Dithmarian the population becomes. The population is large everywhere, but more people were in the Northern region before the War of Arterium.
The Heavenly Throne occupies the titular region of Dithmarburg, but has it's influence and borders spread beyond this area many times in it's history. As of recent however the war has made it barely control Dithmarburg proper.
The Heavenly Army is a small professional force, and are directly under the authority of the Emperor. Other forces from the Princedoms are added to make up numbers, the most famous being the Knights of Branenwick and the Musketmen of Ulm.
Generally, Dithmarburg is slightly more advance from it's wealth, having the most modernized army of Evantian, and giving them a higher standard of living from the bottom to the top. Heavenly Steel also is only made in their borders, giving them a monopoly on it's use as they limit the amount traded to others.
Most of Dithmarburg's relations are based on historical tension, with long history being the base for much of the relations. However recently, the Division has made these relations much more confusing, and less consistant. They do, however always see the mighty Empire as the superior of all other nations.
The Empire has large agriculture in the Lowlands, most of this however is consumed internally. They do however export metal products and stone, from the Central and Southern areas of Dithmarburg. Fishing on the coastline is controlled by the Marciatic Alliance.
The Empire builds on the trade from it's central position. To this, the roads from history are well kept and regarded normally as some of the most well maintained in the world. On the northern coast, the Marciatic Alliance controls naval trade to the Kingdom of Angelia and Republic of the Mark.
The higher classes, being the merchants and nobles are well educated, however a majority of people are uneducated.
The Heavenly Empire has a large, well managed road network across the land, and the capitals of Princedoms are normally walled. These capitals normally have regional centres, like large markets, courthouses and more.
