The Azure Odyssey

Airships were designed and created by Varkgorim, the Kingdom of Orcs. One of the most famous airships, The Azure Odyssey, made its maiden voyage in 1416 DA. It arrived at Dhun Kalduhr with the news that the magic levels seem to have dropped and the Wild Magic Storms had become rare. With the help of the Wyvernview Dwarves, The Azure Odyssey was sent on a second mission in 1418 AD to scout the lands and check in with any Kaers that could be found. These two events signaled the end of the Age of Horrors as people began to leave their underground hideaways and resume life above ground.   The arrival of The Azure Odyssey caused quite an uproar upon it's arrival in Dhun Kalduhr. Before the Age of Horrors, Orcs and Dwarves had been bitter enemies. The Azure Odyssey appearing in the sky above the city was similar to a dragon suddenly appearing. The Orcs had sent the airship in gratitude to the dwarves for The Book of Preservation, which had helped them through their time underground in the Age of Horrors. Despite this newfound friendship, racial tensions are still high between the Orc and the Dwarven societies.   There are usually three airships currently in rotation in the region of Moyenne. One travels between the two major Orc cities, Al Norkbai and Al Razgog. The other two take turns traveling to Al Ashbirdiz, which is a Skyport City Outpost between Tinkergarde and the Wyvernview Kingdom.   The Azure Odyssey, like the other Orcish airships, is powered by elementals under the control of an Orc Shaman. The Shaman uses these elementals to inflate and deflate the leather blimp that allows the airship to stay aloft in the skies. The elementals can also be used for offensive and defensive purposes. There are also ballista mounted on the airship to help defend against and ward off any flying beings or pirates that may seek to bring down the airship.
