Biography
Anteries was born into religious royalty, the daughter of two High Priests of Sol. Her mother, Kenyatta Solander and father, Reyven Solander, united the eastern and western churches of Aethon Sol, God of Light who revered the sunrise and sunset respectively. Anteries Solander, meaning "One of the Noon Day Sun" in elvish, represents the Church's union into one powerful clan that respects all sun phase. The birth of Anteries heralded the end of a religious war, and brought peace to Faerun as wished by Aethon Sol himself. The success of this union spread into other churches, which soon began joining church subdivisions in a similar fashion. Within 100 years, all primary churches were united under their respective deities across Faerun. With these internal affairs settled, the churches of Faerun began building peace not within but among dieties, a century-long effort which has lead to a time a peace among the higher races. Anteries is a dutiful figurehead, and has spent the first 200 years of her life sitting at the head of the Solarium, a massive church made of glass (which allows the sun to enter) located in Procampur, the richest city in Faerun. However, on her 200th birthday she convinced her parents that her duty as a unifier would be best expressed by mingling with the commoners across the land. She argued that she could better spread the light of Aethon Sol to those in need if she went to them rather than requiring pilgrims to come to the Solarium. Her parents reluctantly agreed, and Anteries set out on her own. Although she does give the occasional sermon to the common people, Anteries did not leave the comfort of her temple for the sake of Aethon Sol. Instead, she left to seek answers to a lifelong question; a resolution to a childhood dream. When she was six years old, Anteries climbed out of her glass palace in the dead of night during a raging storm. She felt an ethereal call from the Sea of Fallen Stars and found herself on a cliff overlooking the water. The wind whipped her and the water lashed at the cliffs until it wrapped around the child, dragging her into the sea. While underwater, time seemed to stop. Under the waves, the world was calm. Anteries fell a presence and a deep, gravelly voice penetrated her mind: Daughter of the Sun God, hm? he hissed, You may be of use to me yet. Find me when the time is right. The voice dissipated, and with a sudden rush, Anteries found herself on the shore, the storm gone. The young priestess returned to her parents that morning and told them what she experienced. Her parents, horrified at the near-death and possible encounter with the exiled god Shaeth, God of Destruction, named the experience as a dream and forbid her from wandering near the ocean again. But as she aged, the thought of that voice, that call, never left Anteries. Occasionally, she would steal away to the ocean and wade in, hoping that she might see some indication that her dream was a reality, that the right time had finally come. Now, over 200 years later, Anteries Solander, The Solar Princess, has decided that she will make it the right time.
