Mattrim, more commonly called "Threestrings" in WATERDEEP , is a socially awkward bard whose musical skills are actually better than he lets on. His nickname refers to his three-stringed lute and his inept demeanour is simply a cover for the fact that he is, in fact, a spy for the HARPERS.
His unassuming nature masks the fact that he spends his afternoons and evenings at THE YAWNING PORTAL spying on ZHENTARIM agents and gathering information on other potential troublemakers or persons who may be of interest to his faction.
He recently befriended BONNIE and knows she is a doppelganger. In fact, he wants to help her and her gang settle into the city and so her secret is safe. For the time being...
