Drumohr

The Drumohr are the senior druids in the Druí Roth Mohr. They steward the Círoc (sacred stone circles), and lead the Druí who serve in the Círoc's dominion.

Qualifications

To be elevated to the title of Drumohr, a Druí must be acknowledged as having mastered all aspects of the skills and duties of the Druí Roth Mohr.

They must have mentored no less than 5 Ærkakh to successfully pass their Trial of the Greenlife and Hornking.

They must be known among the Taisech and Rígh of the region in which they serve as being a valuable and honest advisor.

The Bards must agree that the Druí has served the people and the land well and honorably for no less than 80 seasons.

And they must be known among the elder spirits who serve the Circle of the Cycle.

Appointment

To appoint a new Drumohr, all serving Drumohr gather at the spiritual heart of their region.

Círoc Aírd Seanj "KEER-ok AIRD SHAWNJ" Within the Kælic Highlands. "The Circle of the High Stones"

Círoc Seamal Buaic' "KEER-ok SHAW-mal boo-AYSH" Within the Kymric Mountains. "Circle of the Cloud Peak"

Círoc Solas Iantac "KEER-ok SOL-as EEAN-tak" Within the Kharian Basin "Circle of the Great Light"

In these gatherings, the qualifications of the candidate is debated, and divinations cast to determine their worthiness. Once the decision is reached, the Drumohr reconvene at the Círoc where the newly appointed Drumohr will serve and binds the new steward to the Circle and it's domain.

Duties

The Drumohr's primary duty is to the Círoc they steward. Spells and wards must be maintained, the observances of the yearly cycle must be honored. Although they carry additional authority with their title, the Drumohr are also equivalent to Druí. They perform all the duties that they did as Druí, except that the Drumohr do not roam as far from their Círoc. Blessings and advice given from a Drumohr carry no more or less weight to the people of the land than would any Druí.

Still, the magical prowess of a Drumohr is often greater than their siblings in the Druí Roth Mohr. This is merely due to the circumstance that Drumohr are appointed from the Druí who are among the most experienced and well-storied. This higher degree of skill, and the potent resource of the Círoc's wells of magic power, do enable the Drumohr to perform especially potent rituals and workings of magic.

Responsibilities

Like all Druí, the greatest responsibility a Drumohr has is to perform the Talùn Gaes over a new Taisech or Rígh. In addition to that, Drumohr meet in conference to select candidates among the Druí to join their ranks. When necessary, they elect an Armohrdru from amongst themselves to preside for one year from Midsummer to Midsummer. They use the power of the Círoc to hallow new sacred groves and appoint a Druí to attend it. The Drumohr also, as a council, approve new candidates to become Ærkakh.

Accoutrements & Equipment

Drumohr wear the Dahmcòr, a crown of woven holly branches and a grand pair of stag's horns during ceremonies and rites.

In addition to the Shilleleagh and sickle they carry as Druí, the Drumohr bear the Crennæog, a palm-sized sphere of amber that is likely passed down from from the Drumohr who the candidate is succeeding.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

Drumohr are appointed for life. However, when a Drumohr grows too aged or infirm to carry out their duties, they are retired from their responsibilities, and are made at home in a Círoc, or a sacred grove as Elders. Elders serve as advisors for the Druí Roth Mohr, and as teachers for the Ærkakh during their first year, sharing their wisdom and experience.

As with any member of the Druí Roth Mohr, treason against the Greenlife is punished only by death. If there is doubt as to the accused's guilt, a tribunal is held and Judgement passed.
