Yulang (/ˈjuː.lɒŋ/ ("YOO-long"))

The Yulang, a sub-race of the Lupa in Farsae, are distinguished by their resilience and spiritual depth. They thrive in the high-altitude regions of rugged mountains and sparse vegetation. The Yulang are known for their thick, dense fur ranging in colors from light silver to deep greys, blending seamlessly with the rocky mountain terrain. Physically robust and sturdy, they navigate steep and treacherous landscapes with ease, their eyes—often a deep shade of amber or blue—reflecting a penetrating wisdom and serene calmness.   Adapted to the cold, thin air of the mountains, Yulang possess remarkable lung capacity and endurance. Their homes, typically nestled in natural mountain alcoves or constructed from stone, blend into the environment, providing essential protection from the harsh elements. Their society is structured around monastic principles, with communities often centered around temples and monasteries that serve as both spiritual and communal centers. Leadership within these communities is provided by the wisest elders, who act as both spiritual leaders and caretakers of traditions.   Artistically, Yulang culture is deeply spiritual, featuring intricate mandalas and thangka paintings that depict various aspects of their mythology and connection with nature. Music, particularly the use of wind instruments made from mountain reeds, plays a vital role in their religious ceremonies and daily rituals.   One of their most profound traditions is the Path of Stones, a sacred journey undertaken by individuals seeking spiritual and personal growth. This winding mountain path is lined with stones carved by ancestral spirits, each offering unique messages tailored to the Yulang undertaking the journey. As they ascend, each stone presents spiritual teachings and challenges, reflecting stages of personal growth and deeper understanding, cementing the Yulang's connection to their ancestors and the spiritual wisdom of their culture.
