Tandielen

Tandielen is an archipelago in the Dolkenrif Bay. The largest of these islands is called Slagtand.
There are significant populations of Yuan-Ti, Triton, Tortle, and Lizard Folk in addition to more common Erinian races. The Governor of the region, on Slagtand, is technically responsible for sending census data Allume. However, more often than not Erinan census takers estimate the number of people living on the archipelago simply by sailing past the islands. When this happens, the census counters typically count all of the islands' inhabitants as Yuan-ti. Erinia does not recognize Tortles or Lizard Folk as citizens, and the governors of the Tandeilen knowingly mislabel Tritons as Yuan-ti or Elves on census data.

History

During the First Age, these islands were autonomously ruled but under the protection of the Talskindren. However, the Erinian Empire took the islands in a naval war, marking the start of the Second Age.
Native Tandielenders have not taken well to Erinian law, and many small rebellions have taken place on islands across the bay as Erinia continues to build small towns and plantations on islands they deem valuable. Many Tandielenders who do not work directly with the Empire are more friendly towards pirates and other sailors illegally working in the bay than they are towards the Empire's navy. For this reason, tensions remain high in all Erinian settlements in the region.
