The Sempstress

The Sempstress Bridge connects the cities of Caldcourt in Dunwichia and Kraaiing in Hasbachland.
The Sempstress is a wonder of engineering, spanning the Mumazaq Flux with enough room for small ships to pass underneath, all while supporting the weight of dozens of buildings atop and within the bridge itself.

History

Legends say that the cities of Caldcourt and Kraaiing were founded by survivors of the same sailing expedition, when their ships were wrecked on either side of the Flux during The Tempest. While Caldcourt joined the Dunwichian Concord, and Kraiing accepted Hasbach rule, the two cities grew together and maintained a close relationship.
The Sempstress was not the first bridge to be built spanning the Flux, but the first failed before it was completed and the second only lasted a decade before the tide and an inexperienced ship captain conspired to bring its downfall. The Sempstress is larger by far than both earlier bridges.
It has now stood for nearly three centuries, and cemented both Caldcourt and Kraiing as economic powers in their respective nations.

Tourism

The bridge is a tourist destination that brings money into both cities. Some of the money the bridge brings in, however, never leaves the pockets of those who live between the two nations.
