Nulara
The sooner you let me punch this problem, the sooner I can get a drink.
Backstory
Click to ExpandNulara spent her early days training her body in the ways of an Open Palm Monk. Yet despite her outward physical perfection, she lacked purpose and direction. She filled this void with alcohol, until her habit caused her to go blind. She trained her other senses to fill the void left by her eyes, but the emptiness remained.
Physical Appearance
Nulara wore robes typical to a practicer of martial arts, tied with a rope belt. She kept her head neatly shaved at all times.
Personality
Nulara was straightforward and blunt in all her interactions. She rarely encountered a problem she could not simply pummel into submission.
History
Nulara left her monastery and wandered, more or less aimlessly, until she fell in with Calm & Sanosha. The trio adventured for a time within the Dessarin Valley until they were captured by the Cult of Elemental Evil. They were rescued by the Lords of Sharpstone Keep on 6/7/1491 (See that page for more information).
During her adventures she grew closer to Nicodemus, which eventually blossomed in a romance. Nicodemus proposed marriage on 8/3/1491. Nulara insisted, however, that she see her beloved with her own eyes prior to the wedding. She went to the High Priestess of the Goldenfields for healing. Before she would give her blessing, however, Nulara had to overcome her addiction to spirits. Nulara, undaunted, did so and the pair were wed on 5/13/1492.
Following the defeat of the Cult of Elemental Evil the pair spent several years in peaceful, marital bliss. When the War of Secomber Succession began and the Lords of Sharpstone Keep were called by Duke Horrigan, Nulara went with her husband to war (See the war page for details).
On 8/5/1496, the Lords of Sharpstone Keep attacked a supply depot which was defended by the Free Company. Nulara was killed by the other adventurers, though the Free Company were ultimately defeated. Sanosha showed them mercy and spared their life. In gratitude, and as a gesture of goodwill, Sir Egbert the Brave provided the funds to raise Nulara from the dead. This was attempted on 8/10/1496, but Nulara's soul refused to return to life. She believed that death was natural, and reversing it would be wrong.
