Goblin & Hobgoblin

There was a time when the goblin and hobgoblin people made up the population of the strongest nation in the known world. Their faith, feudal system, and wealth were the source of envy throughout the neighboring nations. This envy sparked the inevitable downfall of the nation of naliph, and fforced the goblinoid people to adapt their lives from ones of class and comfort, to lives lived on the road begging for scraps.

Goblin:

Charhide: Born as a result of the Day of Ascension, the goblins known as the Charhide are survivors of the arcane blast that reshaped the deserts of Naliph into the Sea of Glass.   Irongut: The Irongut goblin are among the oldest ancestry of goblin in the world. Their origins can be traced back to the crew of the Spelljammer that crashed onto the surface of the planet. It was these goblins that fled to the east and formed the villages that would one day grow into the nation of Naliph.   Razortooth: Adapting to a life on the road is a hard thing for some peoples to do, and for others the hard decisions come easily. Some pacts of goblins began to file their teeth into deadly rows of sharp teeth as a way of adapting to their new way of living. The nickname of Razortooth followed shortly after.   Snow Goblin: Rarest among the goblin people, the Snow Goblins also can trace their heritage back to the Spelljammer of old. Unlike the Irongut, though, these goblins elected to build their shelters and hide among the peaks of the Arcane Mountains. Years of evolution has helped them adapt and thrive in this frigid environment.

Hobgoblin:

Elfbane: Legends say that the hobgoblin people are the results of twisted experiments that merged the goblin and the elf together as one. Though there have been many investigations there remains no evidence that these magical rituals were ever performed. It continues to boggle the minds of wizards and scientists alike as to why the Elfbane Hobgoblins are resistant to elven magics.   Runtboss: Though they bear an unfortunate nickname, the Runtboss holds a renowned place in the history of Naliph. Frequently these hobgoblins were in positions of power within the nations government. The skill at which they ran the cities and nation continues today as the Runtboss continues to lead nomadic packs as the people search for a new home.   Shortshanks: In the history of Naliph these hobgoblins were often found in the ranks of the military, or knighted as Lion Knights. Now they have taken on roles as enforcers and guardians of their pack.   Steelskin: It is believed that the Steelskin hobgoblins are the result of their exposure to the arcane blast on the Day of Ascension. Their tough hides and unnatural resistance to bleeding having been discovered shortly after when wounded Naliph soldiers found their way to various hospitals in Alivara and Einsaung Nat .   Warmarch: Even during the days of Naliph there were bands of wandering hobgoblins set on selling their services to the highest bidder. These hobgoblins struggled to separate themselves from the ways of their ancestors, and from the actions of the Warmarch Hobgoblin old stereotypes continued to exist.   Warrenbred: The Warrenbred are the rarest of the hobgoblin people. Taken by the dwarven people, the Warrenbred were forced into slavery and conscripted into the Duragle military during the 1000 Year War. Though set free at the wars end the Warrenbred people stayed with the dwarves and carved out a small society. When the dwarves were forced to abandon their home and founded the nation of Jyn Urndlikr the Warrenbred moved with them.
