Samuel Valestir

Samuel was born into a prominent merchant family in Munasarja, his father known for trading on the many rivers that carve through the nation, and Samuel's mother selling her services as an Oracle.  A life of privilege's afforded Samuel Valestir every comfort possible through his life yet access to these did not spoil him on the concept of hard work.  Once completed with general schooling Samuel was quick to join the city watch of Shookset where he fought hard to keep his family name a secret so as to avoid being given easy jobs and fast promotions.  As time went on it became increasingly difficult to avoid people from knowing who he was and the unwanted privilege's were quick to return.
Samuel left the city watch at this time and enrolled himself into the Maeteth Academy.  Though he was not as talented with the arcane arts as he was with a blade the skills that Samuel learned at the academy did not go unnoticed.  A close friend who Samuel had met during his time with the city watch took it upon themselves to recruit Samuel into the Knights of Vinguardia where Samuel would be appointed as a squire to Drage Hollingsworth.  Samuel found that being within the Knighthood was all that he never knew he was missing for the knights did not see the man as either a wealthy man or noble within Munasarja.  Since all persons had to pay their way into the knighthood and earn their commision as a knight Samuel was shown that all within the knight's had to truly earn their place.
Over the years Samuel climbed through the ranks and on the day that King Drage Hollingsworth was crowned Samuel was named Lord Knight of Vinguardia.  Lord Knight Samuel now commands the full breadth of the Munasarjan military and provides direct counsel to King Hollingsworth I.  Since the end of the War of Ascension Samuel has dedicated himself to rebuilding Munasarja as a nation, and as a neighbor, with the hopes of there being a lasting peace.
