8 ETA BOÖTIS SYSTEM

The 8 Eta Boötis System contained two stars collectively designated 8 Eta Boötis, with 12 planets. The system is located in the Borodino Sector of the Outer Rim Territories at a distance of roughly 37.17 light-years or 11.4 parsecs Coreward from the Sol System. The system is proximal to Arcturus, and is part of the Arcturus Loop.

History

The system's resources and its location—a mere three parsecs from the Border between the Union of Progressive Peoples and the United Americas—made it a flashpoint of many armed conflicts throughout the 2100s, culminating in 2162 with the Tientsin Campaign on 8 Eta Boötis A III.
