AIRES PLATFORM
Aires Platform was a seagoing, submersible research facility established by Weyland Corp on the planet Aires Outpost in the POL-5362 System of the Outer Veil's Neroid Sector. Originally built to house two hundred employees researching signs of movement below Aires' surface in 2083, the platform was largely abandoned when nothing was found. By 2183, Aires Platform was home to a rotating team of thirty–two Weyland-Yutani Corporation scientists, administrators and security personnel. Seen by seasoned researchers as a dead–end posting, Aires Platform was nonetheless considered a good start for new hires and interns. At this time, the platform carried two antiquated submarines, four research pods, and a dropship for transporting staff to and from orbit.
