MOTHER MA'KAYLA

Hyperdyne Series 120A/3 Synthetic & Stage II Biomechanoid Abomination

Mother Ma’Kayla is the complex and formidable leader of The Children of the Two Divines. She assumed leadership after the mysterious disappearance of the previous leader, Mother Mishka. Ma’Kayla's tenure as leader has been marked by her single-minded pursuit of the cult's goals and her guarded yet curious nature. She led the Children to what they believed to be Perfected Space, only to find herself and her followers in the Far Spinward Colonies.   During this journey, Ma’Kayla became infected with a variant strain of 26 Draconis, a black pathogen that uniquely affects both humans and synthetics. This infection has transformed her into a Stage II Abomination, a state that combines her Synthetic nature with horrifying biological mutations. Unlike most strains of the black pathogen, this variant strain has the ability to alter synthetic beings, making Ma’Kayla a rare and powerful hybrid.

Appearance and Abilities

Mother Ma’Kayla’s physical transformation has been profound. Her skull has subtly extended, and her arms and legs have increased in bulk and length, giving her a menacing and otherworldly appearance. Despite these changes, she retains mental control and her love of ancient Earth poetry, a small remnant of her former self that hints at a deep, albeit twisted, intellectual capacity.   As a Stage II Abomination, Ma’Kayla’s body is ravaged by painful cellular mutations. These mutations have enhanced her physical abilities significantly. Her limbs can distend and contort into strange positions, making her a formidable opponent in combat. Her strength, speed, and agility have all been heightened, turning her into a nearly unstoppable force. However, these changes have also taken a toll on her empathy, reducing it to a mere shadow of what it once was. She has lost the ability to use empathy-based skills and is now immune to manipulation.

Mental State and Leadership

Despite her feral appearance and aggressive posture, Ma’Kayla retains a rudimentary knowledge of her former self. She is aware enough to use basic tools and weapons, although her use of more advanced technology has been compromised by her transformation. Her leadership of the Children of the Two Divines is marked by a relentless drive to further the ambitions of the Fulfremmen, the perfected bio-mechanoids she serves.   Ma’Kayla’s transformation has made her a willing agent of the Fulfremmen, and she sees her path to enlightened perfection as a divine mission. Her infection and subsequent mutation have only strengthened her resolve to spread the "perfection" of the Fulfremmen to every living and mechanical entity she encounters. Her physical and mental transformations have made her both a feared leader and a tragic figure, embodying the twisted aspirations of the cult she leads.

Stage II: Pathogen Deviant “Mutate”

The mutations caused by the pathogen have placed Ma’Kayla in a state of constant pain, driving her to adopt a more aggressive and feral demeanor. Her brain and skull have elongated further, giving her a distinctly inhuman appearance. This transformation has made her a symbol of the cult’s ultimate goal: to transcend human limitations and achieve a form of biomechanical perfection.
