SEEGSON

Seegson Corporation, a European conglomerate, is renowned for manufacturing inexpensive alternatives to Weyland-Yutani’s product lines. Despite their prominence, Seegson remains in Weyland-Yutani’s shadow. They are well-known for their award-winning A.P.O.L.L.O. AI mainframe and low-end synthetics. Seegson initially gained notoriety by sharing their inventions and pooling resources with smaller companies.

Public Agenda

Seegson is actively attempting to sabotage Weyland-Yutani interests on the Frontier. However, they face a potential scandal involving a large shipment of their Working Joe synthetics, which were sold before their behavior inhibitors were installed. The destination and purpose of these units remain unclear, with rumors suggesting they were purchased for a planetary coup, commissioned by the UPP for use as combat units, or simply a result of a critical error. The thought of inhibitor-less synthetics capable of violence in civilian areas is a major concern for colonial administrators and marshals.

Assets

Seegson operates very few colonies of their own but maintains offices on every major spaceport in the Core, Outer Veil, and Outer Rim systems. Their home offices are located in London, Buenos Aires, Nagasaki, and on Luna, the Solomons, and Anchorpoint. They also operate a few deep space stations as R&D platforms.

History

Founded in the 2030s, Sieg and Son was a direct competitor to Weyland Corp, innovating spaceflight with their own FTL displacement drive system. By sharing their technologies, they ensured that Weyland was not the sole player in reaching the stars. By the 2070s, Sieg and Son had major production plants worldwide. The Sieg family eventually sold their shares, and the company was rebranded as Seegson.   Seegson entered the synthetic market in the early 2100s with their Working Joe model androids. Unlike Weyland’s advanced David or Walter series, Working Joes have rudimentary intelligence and are designed for maintenance and menial tasks. Their appearance, marked by cheap rubberized skin, makes them look like animate mannequins. Despite their simplicity, Working Joes became popular on the Frontier due to their cost-effectiveness.   A significant misstep for Seegson was their investment in extrasolar deep space orbital platform colonies without securing a patent on atmospheric processors. As Weyland-Yutani terraformed more worlds, Seegson’s stock plummeted. By 2140, most of Seegson’s space stations were sold off. Today, Seegson survives through sales in backwater colonies and on the Frontier, where affordability and reliability are key.

Foreign Relations

Seegson has lucrative contracts with the Independent Core Systems Colonies and the Three World Empire. Their business affiliates include Geofund, Gemini Exoplanet Solutions, and Gustafsson Enterprise Ltd. Despite their efforts, Weyland-Yutani does not consider Seegson a serious threat. Like Weyland-Yutani, Seegson aims to secure Xenomorph XX121 specimens for research.

Trade and Transport

Seegson is known for its work in security and communications, credit services, and the A.P.O.L.L.O. AI computer mainframe. They produce space and ground vehicles, pharmaceuticals, and their cost-effective “Working Joe” synthetics. Although considered inferior to Weyland-Yutani products, Seegson’s merchandise is essential for independent colonies that cannot afford Weyland-Yutani’s systems. Their A.P.O.L.L.O. mainframe system remains a popular and cost-effective choice for starship and colony management on the Frontier.

Their business affiliates include Geofund, Gemini Exoplanet Solutions, and Gustafsson Enterprise Ltd. While Seegson is always looking to score big over Weyland-Yutani, W-Y does not consider them a threat at all. Like W-Y, Seegson is looking to secure specimens of Xenomorph XX121 for study and evaluation.

Trade & Transport

Seegson is known for its work in security and communications, its credit services, and the A.P.O.L.L.O. AI computer mainframe. They are major producers of space and ground vehicles, pharmaceuticals, and their mannequin-like “Working Joe” line of cost-effective synthetics. While they maintain an impressive array of product lines, Seegson’s wares are considered somewhat inferior to those produced by Weyland-Yutani. The Colonial Times has even referred to Seegson merchandise as "cheap knockoffs.” Still, an independent colony that couldn't afford a W-Y security system would do almost as well with one from Seegson, and their A.P.O.L.L.O. mainframe system continues to be a popular and cost effective choice for starship and colony management on the Frontier.
