Fae
Basic Information
Anatomy
Each Fae is wildly different even those that considered part of the same 'race' within the Fae can still be diffrent from individual to individual. While there are many races that are considered 'Fae' in nature a true Fae is born or created uniquely, sometimes not even sharing any traits with either of their parents. There are however many exceptions to this uniqueness, such as the Fey Bee, whose Fey Rule, eventually leads it to make perfect copies of itself, that then go on to make even more, essentially creating their own 'race'
Growth Rate & Stages
A Fae's growth rate depends entirely on its lineage, as some are known to mature as fast as Kobolds, while others share the maturity rate of elves
Dietary Needs and Habits
Most Fae do not require any food to survive, though there are some Fae that require alternative nourishment, such as the Fae race known as the 'Salamance' that feeds off intellect
Additional Information
Social Structure
There are 6 classes of Fae. The first two categories of Fae have no Fey Rule and are instead categorized by their ancestry, but both are capable of obtaining rules
'Common' Fae: these are races that happen to be born in the Fey Wild, but do not have any ancestral connection to a Grand Fae
'True' Fae: these are Fae that possess some connection to a Grand Fae, and as a result are usually unique in appearance and could not be strictly categorized into any race other than Fae
Fae with with their rules are usually categorized by the ease at which it takes to activate their rule, with complex conditions putting them lower on the totem pole
Lesser Fae: lesser Fae usually require several steps to activate their rule, and even after that, it may not be very effective or helpful. They can also be considered lesser if the rule itself is not very substantial, such as minor changes in temperature or smell in an area
Intermediate Fae: Intermediate Fae usually only require a few steps to activate their rules, and they are usually helpful or effective for some purpose
Greater Fae: Greater Fae most often only require a single condition for their rule to become active, and it usually takes the form of something significant, and or environment changing
Grand Fae: Grand Fae can only be made with Titania's express permission and any Fae attempting to become one without her permission is hunted down and imprisoned. These Fae are also capable of granting a Fey Rule to the common and true Fae. A Grand Fae's rule can be activated with no conditions at all, and it's effects are always significant and dangerous
Royal Fae: there are only two Royal Fae, Titania and her husband Oberon. Titania is the only Fae currently in existence that can grant the authority to become a Grand Fae
Civilization and Culture
Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals
Within the Fey Wild, all statements are taking completely literally, as an example, if a Fae ask for your name, and you tell it to them, they own your very name and existence, and common sayings such as "can you lend me a hand" can leave you without any
A Fey Promise is as binding as a Demon Contract, and no Fae would willing break a promise that they have made, even if it hurts them in the end, and they expect the very same from anyone else. Breaking a Fae promise can lead to dire ramifications, with only the luckiest being granted death
In most circumstances, a Fae will refuse to take any food from strangers, this however is not true if it is either a Fae of great renown, great power, or very closely related to another with either of those qualities. If they dont meet those criteria, most Fae will refuse the first three times before accepting the food
Common Taboos
Fae will not mettle in the personal affairs of another Fae unless asked or directed to, and doing anything else is considered deplorable
True Fae have an aversion to iron as strong as a Lycan's aversion to silver, so gifting anything made of iron to Fae is considered both a threat and an insult
Acting against Titania directly in any way is not only seen as a taboo, but also a foolish and dangerous endeavour, as Titania has more authority than even the Gods within the Fey Wild and is easily capable of snuffing out the life of a Grand Fae with a mere wave of her hand. Those that do oppose her in the Fey Wild do not do so openly
History
It's said that the Fae originated from a union of the Elven God, Corellon and an ancient Avatar from the Astral. They created the life together and gave them a home with a plane that they made together, the Fey Wild. After some time however, Corellon had felt the Elves had 'squandered' his gifts and cast the majority of them out of the Fey Wild and cursed them with mortality, leaving the other races to have claim to the Fey Wild. After this event, the Avatar was struck with grief seeing so many of beings they helped create punished so severely, they used all of their power to seal the Fey Wild away from the Gods and fell into a deep slumber.
Its is said that Titania found the slumbering avatar eons ago and with its power became the Royal Fae that she is today
Common Myths and Legends
They are ancient legends of other Royal Fae existing long ago, and had given rise to other Fae races, such as the Changelings and Vulpine, but no true evidence of their existence remains today
It's widely believed that Oberon was the first Saytr and was given many blessings by Titania, before he was eventually made her consort and a Royal Fae, however there is no proof that this is true
