Mining Outpost

Initially created as a mining outpost in the asteroid belt, this quickly proved to be a mistake. The amount of raw materials estimated to be present in this part of the belt was off by several decimals. Soon enough, the vast and sturdy mining outpost was largely abandonned and left drifting.

Military Base

Warmongers

In 199.970, the paramilitary organisation known as the WarMongers, fleeing from another failed campaign, takes refuge in the abandonned outpost. They fortify it and use it as their headquarters. With the abandonned tech and support present, they develop it into a science lab as well as a military base. This allows them to finally begin their project of hiring or kidnapping eminent scientists throughout Known Space in order to make them develop the superweapons they need to become a player in the universal stage. In 200.001, a Future Club operation attempts to rescue Dr Maths, a mathematician that the WarMongers captured some twenty years prior. The operation is successful and decimates the WarMongers.

Arkorp

With the decimation of the WarMongers and their Headquarters, Future Club operative Frank N Stein offers up the location of the base to ARKORP for a generous premium. Within days, Arkorp ships swarm the base and all access becomes impossible.
