Death Bearers

Origin

There are reports of sightings of Death Bearers going as far back as the BC era. In rare instances where one has been communicated with, they have danced around the subject of what they are, or where they are from.

Description

Their presence feels similar to Ghost s, but they are often well dressed, in darker tones, and where their face should be is often a smiling skull instead. Their eye sockets are empty, and living beings will find it difficult to hold their gaze, or even look in their direction for prolonged periods of time.    They always seem to know where they are going, but never hurrying. In the rare conversations that were had with instances of Death Bearers, they seem to recall events from accross history, and sometimes even predicted events that have not happened yet.

Connection to the tangible

Death Bearers seem to be able to phase through most materials, and unaffected by conventional weaponry. Particularly powerful weapons with a strange relationship to Reality, like Fusion weapons or Atomic Bombs seem to affect the Death Bearers, but never for long. Their shape eventually reforms and they often don't acknowledge the disturbance.   On Terrax IV , The Hunters' Mark had managed to trick a Death Bearer into entering a Faraday Cage , which seemed to hold it prisoner. It was released during Hunters and Hell .   Particularly powerful magical spells or hexlogs have been known to repel the beings, but it is hard to predict the level of power required for such a feat.

Goals

Death Bearers appear to be ferrying souls in and out of Reality, often being spotted at the sites of particularly bloody conflicts. They also seem to be hunting down Ghosts. In their own words, to bring them to where they belong.
