Once a noble captainof the Aridian Federation, sailed the ambitious Marino to the shores of Yatangar to fight the Corsairs and kill their Queen. In order to have a fighting chance against the overhelming might of the Dread-Fleet he made a deal with an unholy fiend, which gave him the gift of immortality and supernatural powers. For many years he hunted down Corsair ships and became the nightmare of every sailor that sailed under the black flag.
Still he never managed to fully exterminate the Corsair-Threat, instead he grew hungry for power. So he claimed the northern Cliffs of Yatangar as his Domain. Now these cursed lands are covered in shadows, where the shambling corpses of shipwrecked sailors patrol the land of the Vampire High-Captain
